1968 Plymouth GTX
A Holley 750 race carb (jetted 72/81) sits atop an Indy intake manifold and feeds the Indy 440-1 aluminum heads. Wiseco pistons (squeezing 10.56:1) and Manley rods punch via a 4.150-stroke crank for a total of 500 of Mother Mopar’s angriest cubes. A solid 0.600/0.609-lift Comp Cams bumpstick and 1.5 rockers tickle the valves. Long-tube Hedmann Hedders blow through a 3-inch custom exhaust and Flowmaster two-chamber cans. March pulleys, a Milodon oil pan, a Crane HL-6 ignition and coil, and a Mopar Performance vacuum advance distributor are among the premium pieces chosen to let the X run the numbers. Those are, by the way, 664 hp at 6,250 rpm and 645 lb-ft at 4,750 rpm on the Indy Cylinder Heads engine dyno.
